Whilst grinning and wading through the "Laws that would make the world a better place" thread, I forgot an egg was on the boil until it exploded. Apart from the floor, worktop adn cupboards, it messed up the larger kitchen utensils pot. So during the cleanup I decided to wash them and tipped them into the washing up bowl and didn't realise a new sharp knife was in the pot. So of course I picked it up under the water and sliced my finger nicely. Now I have a plaster and a throbbing finger.

Applied some security settings to a user in an application which I shouldn't really have been modifying but needed to solve a problem. Inadvertently this limited data access to only that user by some stupid illogical counter configuration that already existed. So I got a call at dinner when all the users were reporting error messages while they tried to get on with work. Unfortunately it had taken two and half hours for anyone to get in touch with me for something that took 20 seconds to reverse. Damn annoyed at myself but also the processes and support or lack thereof which led to my frustration to act on my own. Even more perplexed however to discover that the problem I was fixing with the configuration seems to still be fixed after the configuration has been reversed and I'd mentally abandoned that avenue of engineering.

^I've no idea what any of that meant or if it was a

minor disaster or something more serious
(That's not my disaster, merely an observation:-) )

youngest missed the bus from our nearest stop, so I had to drive him to town to catch it there

(the bus goes a very convoluted route - of course, the car was iced up but we just made it.)

this has cut at least 20 minutes from my run window

Checked bank this morning and discovered £260 had been charged to my credit card from Laithwaites wine... now I love a NZ sauv blanc but £24 bottles £260!!!

Anyway phoned Laithwaites and they’ve agreed to cancel & credit. That they didn’t email me to say it was coming/been delivered to pick up point I’m glad I have online banking or I’d not have known until December’s statement! I need a drink now.
