Another one to provoke discussion if you want. Again I AM NOT THE EXPERT HERE.

To talk about the autistic spectrum is misleading because the basic meaning of 'spectrum' is one-dimensional but the variations on autism are countless-dimensional.

I think the major misunderstanding is that people think 'the autistic spectrum' is a linear thing light light wavelengths, which goes from 'not at all autistic'/infrared at one end to 'very autistic'/ultraviolet at the other, and thus everyone falls on it somewhere and we've (arbitrarily) put a line at one point and said 'beyond here it counts as a disability'.

In reality it's more like 'a spectrum of autism' with different wavelengths corresponding to different traits, and each autistic person has a different combination of those traits.

I imagine very few people are at the 'absolutely no autistic traits whatsoever' end of the spectrum.

Indeed. I have a grandson who does not perceive hunger or enjoy food and eats because he has been taught he has to. Stick that on a "spectrum".

The Spanish village of Trasmoz was (and still is) collectively excommunicated by the Catholic Church. It elects a "Witch of the Year", has a statue of Manuel Jalón Corominas' who was awarded a patent for the mop and bucket, and has a street named after Nayim's goal in the 1995 Cup-Winners' Cup Final. Julio Iglesias' father was kept there in 1982 after being kidnapped by Basque separatists. It is one of very few Spanish villages to not be on Google Street View, although the road which bypasses it is.
