Work radio seems to throw a Christmas song in every once in a while - just been Wizzarded, so beards rather than big 80s hair and still in the game.

Have been over to my mum's house and taken her out to a local garden centre for shopping and to have a coffee. No Wham there so I should be safe for the first day at least! 😉🤣

Garden centres are just asking for trouble.

I've got to walk through Stratford Westfield tomorrow night - UCI Champions' League at the velodrome.

Don't expect to be on the thread come Saturday.

That's right, GregP. That's why I thought I'd be out first day! Safely negotiated though! 😂

My husband is watching a programme about a mechanic and it’s got a radio playing in the background. I’ve put my headphones on so I can’t hear it.

Had Smooth UK on for ten minutes. Got the Mariah immediately, which I took as A Portent so I switched it off.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
So, as I went to give blood last night, they'd put a radio in the waiting room tuned to Heart. First song played! Thankfully, that was still November, so I'm in. However, based on last night's experience, and the fact that I crashed out last year in the waiting room for my COVID booster, I'm going to try to avoid having any dealings with our NHS until after Christmas Day.
This corner of the NHS is taking no chances with Absolute Radio 90s.

I suspect that might have to be my choice for the long drive to Kent tomorrow night. Don't think I can tolerate podcasts for that length of time, that late at night.

About This Thread

GOOGLE SHEET HERE:

docs.google.com

Sheet for 2024 is on the first tab; you update your own entry. As with previous years, we're also tracking the number of repeated 'hits' for those who are out before the end (if you want to).

Who's up for the challenge then? whamageddon.com

"The 1st Rule
The objective is to go as long as possible without hearing WHAM's Christmas classic; "Last Christmas".

The 2nd Rule
The game starts on December 1st, and finishes at the end of December 24th.
Use your local timezone, if you'd like.

The 3rd Rule
Only the original version applies.

The 4th Rule
You're out as soon as you recognise the song.

Player vs Player?
While we can't stop you from deliberately sending your friends to Whamhalla, the intention is that this is a survival game. Not a Battle Royale. So ... don't be a dick, okay?"
