The old style waterproof glove was this: ultramarathonrunningstore.com The new one might be better. Primaloft should be warmer and more breathable I expect. |

Some great suggestions here for me too. I struggle to get gloves on to start with when it's cold and wet. My gloves just don't seem to want to go onto wet hands. Combining my experience and one above, I've used small cotton / wool undergloves with a second pair of much better quality to help. |

I wear my Buffalo mitts which still work to a degree even when sodden - they are Pertex and not waterproof to any degree

Not sure what the requirement is for here, what are you doing? Also @paulcook as i'm sure you know you should put your gloves on, in this instance before your hands are wet and cold. Same for all wet / cold protection gear. |

Thanks everyone for suggestions so far. Lots to think about! @lammo I mainly run trails, long and slow and often use poles (Peak District, Shropshire etc). I'm also a bit of a skinny Minnie, so get cold very easily! |

Right thanks, you could try silk liners to help with the cold, comfortable too

@stilldreaming what have you tried so far? Long and slow might be better with hiking gear? |

I've had several pairs of expensive gloves for rain and snow conditions, many of which didn't work out for one reason or another. In the end I stick to a pair of gloves that keep me warm, and pull on a pair of overmitts if they start getting wetted. This is the best compromise and lets me use some of those that didn't work out properly.

If you get over mitts, make sure they big enough! Sounds stupid, but easy mistake to make. I can't remember what make mine are, either innov8 or Salomon but I love them. As with anything waterproof they do eventually go through, but they last a while before that. Plus they pack small and dry quick after use. (They live in the bottom of my running pack, just in case) The other thing to do is load up on lots of cheaper gloves and change them regularly. I own about 6 pairs, a couple are allegedly waterproof. |
