Hi everyone - how awesome was that
hope you all enjoyed the experience as much as I did.
I loved every minute of the Goofy Challenge- tried to take it really easy for the 1/2 but still decided to race the last mile as it was such fun overtaking people !
For the marathon I was really lucky to find the 4:30 pacer at the start of the pen and ran with this group until I needed a loo stop at 14 miles - then caught them up again from mile 17 thru to 21 when I needed to spend a penny again - from here it was a run/walk to the finish but I was really happy to finish strong and high 5 Mickeyat the end.
Chip times- 2:09:01 for the 1/2 and 4:34:45 for the marathon so very happy with a Goofy time of 6:43:46
My legs feel a bit rough today so I think I'll be waddling around the Animal Kingdom a bit like Donald Duck

Well done Debbie.
I did the race last year ( Marathon only ) it was a fantastic route especially going through Magic Kingdom. We had bad weather though as it was -2 it was not nice. Hope the conditions were better for you.

This whole weekend of running was brillant, so well organized and so much fun.
I probably went too quick in the 5K , 27:xx - I started off slow but got a bit competitive with some woman towards the end.
The half we did in 2:11, at a nice easy, even pace, deliberately holding back.
My Marathon was 4:23, it felt quite comfortable. Wasn't going for a time but pleased as it is my 2nd fastest ever.
which adding things up is 6:35:01 for the Goofy. Really chuffed, would recommend this event to anyone - a blog is imminent, stand by...

I agree, a favourite race for me as well, so well organised and the best bling ever! I finished in 2:14:04 for the half and 4:48:30 for the full , so just over 7 hrs total, but a massive 20 min marathon PB!
I booked into Runners Retreat both days as well and would recommend the extra expense as it was nice to sit somewhere warm at some ungodly hr and they had a buffet before and after the races.

I loved it though Jogged round the 2 and some surreal moments I really love those out of body experiences
