I'm interested in this, if only to learn what goes through people better than me's minds!

I think having the chat here might be against chess.com policy. In addition, it would allow our opponent to see the chat. The chat on chess.com for a vote chess game is hidden until the game is finished. And before that time only the participating team members see the team’s chat. |

We (Team Australia) forfeited a game because a team member had posted (a link to the game) on a forum outside chess.com. Though not strictly required to forfeit, it was the honourable thing to do.

I can't find any guidelines saying off-site discussion is against the rules, but JCB's comments make sense in that giving opponents a chance to see our plans is probably not the best idea and that for fairness the team should be fixed at outset rather than having all-comers to this thread able to add comments. From what I have been able to find in the chess.com forums it seems that the vote has to take place on the site anyway and the move then happens automatically at a fixed point. If Jules finds an opponent maybe we just need to jump in to test the water by playing a game on the site, adjustments in the way we operate can be made once we have some experience of the format. |

My 3 possibles are: Black Stone Chess Cafe Hawaii Chess Club I quite fancy Hawaii as it sounds a bit exotic & members from one place rather than a ‘designer team’ |

Aloha! One of the advantages of living in Japan for a while was the opportunity to visit Hawaii without a huge journey time and jet lag. It was our closest “western” destination.
