Velociraptor
I am also doing a blank look. Mixed in approximately equal quantities with a hard reptilian glare and the shards of batter that are considered a delicacy in some places and bin fodder in others.
[Vinegar and salt. I'll have some mayo on the side if it's on offer.]

Ilford is one of those 'is it London or isn't it' Essex towns - like an extreme version of Romford. I have family from round there (Harold Wood). Good peoples.

In a chippy, mixed is chips and mushy peas. Gravy optional.
In a pub, mixed is half a bitter and half a mild. In a pint glass. Again, gravy optional

Mixed is bitter and mild. If you’re really into it you might ask for one of the beers to be dispensed into your glass (maybe one of those heavy ‘bathroom window’ jobs with a handle) before the other
A mix is chips and peas

That's a jug, Tuppers. Beloved of morris dancers and my late father.

Ilford had a Palais. It was just like the clubs in Nottingham, except it was full of Cockneys. There was a Chinese restaurant near to the Palais. I once sat on the next table to Alvin Martin, who was some sort of God to the locals.
