Good luck for anyone who needs a decent marathon in that space of time :-)

Probably most people don't have quite such a pronounced on/off season as I do, but OTOH I'm not likely to find my best performances expiring in the middle of summer either!

Yep. My marathon expires this month though it was the first 26 miles of 110 so not exactly quick!

I race pretty much throughout the year (although marathons are less likely to be "raced" these days). This means that most potential gains for me are always going to be marginal rather than earth shattering.

Yeah, so you might need a bit more notice for a good marathon time, but if you do one a year or something like that, I'd hope you'd remember when it was ;-)

Synge - that's fair enough. I think it's a good tool for helping you get up to racing speed - but as we all know, once you've hit a threshold, it can take some beating :-)

Looks like my one mile time is about to expire. Might be a fun way to spend a few (less than 7 or it's wasted time) minutes this week.

It's worth taking a look at your benchmarks (and filtering to 'last 12 months') to see what any expired time will be replaced by:

I've never run a hard mile! Not proper hard as a one-off, though a 6 minute interval and a bit of the subsequent recovery might count :-)

Oh, my fastest mile takes me to a recent 10k, where it looks to be either the first mile or a bit of downhill in the middle.

Me neither, JDA! Looks like I'll lose one second. I'll live with it :-)

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
Start in the bottom division, and compete over seven different distances against your rivals for weekly promotion!

How It Works
1) The game takes your best times from training and racing over the last 12 months.

2) If you've got the fastest 5k in your division, you get 20 points. If you're second fastest, you get 19 points, etc.

3) Your FIVE best scores are used to calculate your total. So if your scores at each distance are 20,20,20,20,20,10,5 the lowest two are discarded, and your total points would be 100.

4) Promotion and relegation happen every Monday at midday.
