Yes, he was good, Golfinos (is that correct), the Darwin captain looked like he was on crack.....the young lad from SOAS just shouted random stuff out. I now believe University Challenge Tourettes is a condition.

Golfinos was extremely good - can see Darwin winning it, in spite of the other three barely saying a word. Thirty-odd correct answers for me last night.

The guy on the far right got a bit too close to smug for my liking last week, above average week for me, winning all the way. A familiar course, I win early doors, the OH wins later on in the series using here classical education, i.e. fee paying schools, languages and medicine.

I liked the maroon jumper the captain had on, I had a dark blue one just like that in the 70s. I reckon it was an antique or family heirloom.

Fragile Do Not Bend
For me, it just depends on whether they have subjects I happen to know something about. Usually science or nature. Tonight I found I knew more than I thought about mythical creatures and subatomic particles expressed as crossword clues.

I’m always especially pleased when I get a question right that none of the contestants, or my husband, knew the answer to. Tonight I knew the anatomical term for the outer part of certain bits of the body - cortex. *smug*

Rivers & Genesis were OK. Failed on the Wiltshire Wyvern and Yale - even though Wyvern school is a only few miles away - and I have finished the Clarendon half there a few times

Didn't get as many starters as normal, but got 100% on the rivers, mythical creatures, atomic particles, US state capitals, native names of European countries. Didn't get any of the "spots in art" or characters from Russian novels though.
