Maybe that phot doesn't show it well. The white band is that tacky rubbery stuff you get at the hem of lycra cycling shorts and [Bobs says] at the top of hold-up stockings. It seems a bit silly to me, because unless you're running with no shorts/pants it's only got other clothing to grip to.

I've got a couple of compression tops with a hem as per photo. They don't grip if I'm wearing lycra tights just rides up at sits on waist, which I don't mind really. Mine don't have pockets but if they did then that could be annoying.

The thought of Having more accessible pockets came from a question back on page 2534 & Paul N said he has a bumbag & shorts with a pocket so the backpack is only for carrying essentials. Then the T-shirt came up and I thought that may work I’m not good running with a bumbag even without the race vest. I guess I can only try. |

You could try running with a cycling top ( you can pick up cheap one on eBay etc ) to see if you like using pockets on a top as well as wearing your race vest

That's a good idea Gus. I've seen several other runners doing that.

I’ve a couple of cycling tops I’ve used for running (don’t own a bike) to utilise the pockets. Ok for lighter items but you get a lot of movement for heavier things like a water bottle.

The more pockets you have, GG the more there is temptation to take too much with you. If your pack is sufficient for the essentials + whatever food you want to carry, then practicing packing it so that you can get at your snacks etc without taking it off might be better than weighing yourself down with lots of extras The only thing I struggled with packing accessibly on this years LDWA events was the "solid" cup for hot drinks. Anyone got advice for that? |

Don't Alpkit do a titanium one? That's about as light as you're going to get.

One of those is on my list for Santa ![]() it's not only the weight, it's the where to put it so I can get at it without taking off pack or dislocating shoulder - or having it rattle and bounce |
