And while the expression for a 50p was "10 bob" to my dad and granddad, there were no crowns, sixpences or thrupenny bits still in circulation in my living memory. Soz! G

They ceased to be legal tender in 1970. Back on thread - I had one of the limited edition sets of pre-decimalisation coins
