Crikey TRO that took some guts to persist after that experience!

The sea swim sounds really horrible, TRO. Good that you found the courage to have another go. I'm not sure I would have. I've been reading the Basic Triathlon questions thread from page 1. It is very time consuming but so interesting, going back to 2008 with discussions about Garmins being turned on in T1 - remember those days? - and people's first experiences. I've been reading blogs relating to those outings too. I haven't got a lot else done this afternoon |

I've messaged the organiser of the upcoming Sprint triathlon with some questions. I'll see what the response is before I commit. If I have to pull myself out of the pool, there is no point me entering as it would be the longest ever T1 in the history of triathlonning.

I doubt that very much GM. Is Hills of Death (HOD) still lurking behind the skip out back?

Lol I got a very nice reply from the organiser. He will put me in the lane where the steps are and has assured me that there will be plenty of transition guidance and support on the day as the event is put on to encourage complete noooobs. So I've entered 😱 I'm both terrified and excited. I can't quite believe I've done this, but it was on my list of ambitions for the year and the main reason I had swimming lessons recently. Can I be added to the sidebar please GregP (assuming I've got the format right)? 30 April 23 *Early Brigg Sprint Triathlon (GM) TYIA |

Fantastic! Really looking forward to cheering you on virtually on the 30th! (And remember if I can do a tri you most certainly can, and you'll smash it!) |
