Well done, I did some running virtually. Survived. And wrote a blog. fetcheveryone.com/blog/55962 Virtual Hypocrite.

I'm feeling strongly that the low level lethargy is actually incipient lurgy. This time tomorrow my brain will be fully liquid and dripping out of my nose, I can just tell. Mystery solved, at least. |

Fair play to anyone running virtual at full beans. Not something I could do. Ran 4:30.77 and won my race pretty easily (4 sec gap to 2nd). Sat in for 700m then took lead for 800m. No PB today and if I'm honest, weather concerns meant PB mentality wasn't there and needed a race to make me run that way. I was in between A and B race standard (PB wise I was on the front of B but pretty sure I'm stronger than PB in the right race) and could have put a faster time to be in the A race but then with the weather concerns, I'd have been looking at a lonely run into the wind chasing time so I hoped that the B race would just go out faster and give me a shot in the last two laps. In the end the wind wasn't too bad but the race was a little on the slow side for what I wanted and I wasn't feeling like a solo TT. This week made me realise I wouldn't want to do outdoor track in the winter in the time chasing format, I'm happy to just race so well seeded races or a track league would work for me, not sure many would bother though as most of the time conditions won't be conducive to fast times (today may have been TBF though). Hopefully a good winter and the new BRAT MD group will mean that I'm ready to race above my current level next year. |
