Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have Hill Climbs filed in the same place as CX - the do not go there, ever, file.

Hill climbs: too short, too explosive, too alien

CX: too much skill required

Crits are the dangerous one, should be in the do not go there, ever file but always end up in the ‘certain urges - maybe’ file.....

I may try some MTB enduro this winter.

CX and Hill Climbing are both filed in the something I may want to try one day file. Problem is, I'd have to actually do some riding to prepare for them which probably means it won't happen.

CX ~ XC on a bike
Hill climbing ~ Middle distance running on a bike.

I have MTB enduro’d including a 12 hour overnight and they are not as manic as the likes of CX appear to be. I’ve only ever done mild courses mind, like Thetford where the only descents are bomb holes.

BDP, hiit/circuits disguised as rugby later, should be fun.

I have now regained full use of the bionic ankle and bruises are maturing nicely.

Very much enjoying the footer/sider high jinks, Gerp, by the way. Teat Rae and Milkt Rae do sound vaguely obscene, but I suppose that's only appropriate. Carry on.

MA.

I couldn't get the hang of riding on gravel path last week. I had to really concentrate because all my instincts were saying - gravel! slow down! and it was a bit wet so I kept thinking it would be slippy.

Yesterday was my second day in the office with my boss. Day one was 16th March and we've been at home until a fortnight ago but one or the other of us have been on holiday until yesterday.
Yesterday at 11am he got a call, his mother in law has had a positive test and he's been in close contact so he had to go home and isolate for a fortnight. I'm wondering if I can string this out until Christmas!

Tro - talking to the triathlete from a few pages back was funny. Like you he can ride all day but is branching out. Seemed a pleasant chap. I think he is getting over the shock of competitive at tri, solid at time trials (he had a 53.x 25) and nowhere in hill climbs

Are you sure you mean Enduro and not just cross country or marathon mtb - I dont Enduro as it is too gnarly for me and too high risk(I have crashtory)

Hill climbing is 800/1500/3000 as a rule SPR

CX IS MUD ON THE WRONG BIKE but great fun in a truly sadistic way.

Crits - safer than road racing due to no traffic but one mistake can really mess you up.

As well as crashes I have written off 1 bike and destroyed a zipp 202.

Now for a laugh at my expense

Beta crit - 8 laps in and in no distress but about to dump the power up in the hope of a better one for the end. Just as I reached for it a notification flashed up and dropped me out of zwift. Dropped back in 10 -12 seconds out the back and race over. Nice 5 mins at 340 or so watts as I chased but pointless :-)
