So... having ridden the bike course a few weeks ago in little to no wind. There is a road that heads into Dorchester that is long and downhill and starts immediately after the only real hill on the course, hedges either side. I had major issues where there were gaps in the hedge with a 50mm carbon front, proper speed wobble as I got caught.
Be wary there. Weather does look like its calmer than originally forecast now.

"calmer" is relative.

Cheers, yes had most of that apart from 'clear your brakes before you actually need'. Bike rebuilt last night with 30mm front, 80mm rear clinchers and brakes biting a bit more which was a ballache to adjust as both wheels are different from the 808/super 9 tubulars wheelset I've been running all year.
It'll be fun, but a bit of a lottery and not a race suited to me for any high placing ambitions. Suspect my conclusion after the race will be 'wish I'd got out a bit more during winter when the weather was shit instead of arsing about on Zwift....'

Nah TRO - you spend enough time on the rig. Yes its windy but you adjust on a dc for trucks and gusts when doing 40mph
Rain sucks- I can't recommend a little early brake scrub on the rim enough before you get into heavy braking.

Quite right Gobi, even I know that - but then people who have ever ridden a motorbike generally do. Those who are still alive, anyway.

"While we continue to monitor weather conditions and remain in consultation with our event safety teams on-site in Weymouth, at this stage the predicted wind direction should allow a full swim course to go ahead. "

I am despatching 4 banners to Brandon Tool Hire in Weymouth today. My client asked for mesh material because "It's a particularly windy place". Just sayin'.
