Morning.
Agree with Gobi.
Nothing wrong with not hitting a tough but achievable target but not sure the price for not achieving (being pulled off the course and not getting to finish a race you've spent £400 on) is worth it.

Gobi, that's exactly the crux of the matter, if you're not 100% committed you will fail.

That's bollox Fenners. I can 100% commit to swimming the channel next week. In fact in 6 months of training I could change my life to prepare.
I will however 100% drown as my swimming is not good enough to achieve the objective.
It never will be no matter how much I commit.
There is a point where reality has to be accepted.

There is more to reality than commitment mental strength can kill you or at least leave you fucked up like me with buggered legs.

Gobi, will due respect I think you're misinterpreting what I'm saying.
My first thought is REALISM. It's a bit like people suggesting I can cruise a sub-3:30 marathon, I've been there, failed to do that.
However, in Sweetie's case, my view, is that the person is very close to success, and the difference to success can be around building a positive mental persona.
Happy to disagree if we are on the same page as I totally respect your wisdom, skill and experience.

My entire line of posts with Sweetie have been based on reality so we are violently agreeing really.
Our difference here is the definition of close to sucess . The coach in me thinks the margin is too small and PMA cannot out do logic and maths.
Ps. I believe I could still cruise a 3.30
