Raining here as well, and something blew two of the main fuses in our house over night, which was entertaining to fix before we could boil a kettle for coffee.
fy nghariad has done his back in, so I can't even supervise him doing the gardening.
A bit of a loose end now...

Oh it's Welsh. Oh.
It's National Day of Prayer for the Police over here, so if you're *really* at a loose end, spare a thought for the (UK) thin blue line and the dumb number crunchers who support them.

Anyone got a job?
Other than that, 2.5 hours Zwatted last night, today a swim of 2.2k and a dread jog.
Club testing later, trial of my new 58 tooth/1x set up (on a completely inappropriate course to actually benefit but should find it works and chain stays on etc).

You been made redundant yet, then?
Presumably our next BT jolly will be cancelled alas. Three days at Adastral Park, a day up the Derek Pringle Tower and I beth they pull the plug just when I'm starting to enjoy it. Swines. They were supposed to be taking us to Wemberly in July.

No, but here begins a 2 year battle to duck under the swinging axe each time it passes through....:-(
Things like jollies, executive pay and benefits usually carry on regardless so you may be ok. They're selling BT Centre (St Pauls Head Office - prime site just opposite), but keeping the Dell Pringle penis.

I learned yesterday that the job I left less than a month ago has laid off 170+ contractors.

I'm still awaiting the swing of the axe by the American company that has acquired us (and the crippling debt to do so).
Happy days.
Still, managed to scenic commute in this morning. Stretch and post office at lunch I think.

It'll swing just when you think you've escaped, in my experience. They usually announce a restructure/change/acquisition etc and claim £xxxx will be saved.
This buys them enough time to fanny about for about 12-18 months doing nothing, then someone will realise that nothing has actually been saved. The hugely damaging ill conceived back of the envelope panic measure will then shortly follow....

At BT we play the old hokey-cokey. First we move stuff into the centre 'for cost savings, efficiencies and synergies', then we move it back out to the regions 'to make us more agile, dynamic, closer to the customer'.
Whenever they realise the latest move has been failure, they instigate the next one. Been through this cycle 3/4 times....
