Yep. Asparagus has gone. We picked the last of our rhubarb last weekend before Beelzebub has a chance to urinate on it. [I'll dig out a link in case this sounds like an odd statement] |

Anyway, the devil wees on rhubarb around midsummer and you shouldnae eat it after then. See also end of September and blackberries. |

We visited Sue's Mum at the weekend. 130 miles each way to sit in her garden and talk to her through the patio door. Such are the strange times in which we live. Anyway, she has a bumper crop of loganberries. I rather like them. I'm sure someone - possibly nico - told me why they aren't grown commercially but the reason escapes me. |

Jeez Rhubarb. Vile. My mother used to get very excited with home grown rhubarb. I remember pinky gloop either too bitter (not enough added sugar) or too sweet. Utter relief when season was over and there was no chance of it as dessert for another year. Rhubarb and custard boiled sweets were ok, but the cartoon was shit. |
