I don't think Froome's performance was outstanding. I think a lot of the others had bad days. He finished just over a minute ahead of Ten Dam and Mollema, I would say that's about on the money.

Tonybv9 - Re Murray's opponent. Which drug acts so fast? lol

The thing is Porte has definitely improved, so Sky are definitely doing something different/ better. Porte always had potential, but he didn't show any form when he was at Saxo bank.

No form SPR? So at Saxo he didn't finish 7th in the Giro and win the young riders jersey?

SPR - I'm sure there's something for a quick fix.

I agree with Hammerite. Froome is in great form, and the other rivals had a bad day. I can't remember seeing Can't Adore struggling to hold a team mate's wheel before.

Nothing is going to work like that apart from amphetamines, which are probably not a great idea in a skill sport.
Not saying it didn't happen, just can't imagine what it might be that he could have taken.

Argument for making Kreuziger team leader if Contador carries on like that, Kreuziger has been top 10 before.

Given Contador palmares, there's no way they make the switch after the first mountain stage, unless they feel Contador didn't have a bad day and won't improve. Also depends on why Contador didn't have it yesterday. I wouldn't have expected anyone other than Froome to beat him. If it is to do with the crash or allegies and those will improve, you have to stick with him. If it's form and you think that the form will be better in the last week (with Froome's level dropping due to peaking now), you try and limit losses now as a good Contador should be better than a good Krueziger. The team has the numbers though so should know the full picture.

Bloody hell. This stage is messy already. Sky team in pieces. Maybe too much work yesterday? Maybe trying too hard to not let breakaway go today. Weird. Nasty looking crash for Kennaugh (sp?). Some big old thorns to remove I would imagine. Pictures of him climbing out of the bushes will be on many a tour highlight me thinks!

Just put it on and the only word to describe the action so far is "BOOM", and I don't mean Lars.
