My parents believed that there was nothing sadder than a Christmas tree on New Year's Day and wouldn't have dreamed of leaving the decorations in place to upstage their 6th January wedding anniversary.

I won't put the tree up any earlier this year (as Mel says, even with a needlefast tree in a centrally heated house, it's too much to expect them to last a month looking decent). But I am toying with getting the outside lights up in our trees next week. Soz WS
