One of the many contradictory things about me is that while I love chocolate, and I love doughnuts, I frequently dislike chocolatey doughnuts.
Particularly filled ones. Jam is really the only acceptable filling for my money. Nutella, or similar, is unbearable, as is custard, or cream cheese.
I get very upset when I forget that the chocolate iced ring doughnuts from Lidl are also filled with something gooey, so I can quite imagine their white chocolate offering being disappointing.
I'm contrast, Sam loves all kinds of doughnut filling, but finds Coca-Cola (which is my elixir of life) sickeningly sweet.

It was called a pistachio cream bun but it was really a doughnut. It was fine, too.
