Good pics everyone, always fun to see such a variety of ideas. I put a photo of Beeston Manor under bricks on p167. Here's some info on the date of the brick upgrades from the older timber framed house |

Another Blue Plaque, this one is on the Devils Bend, about 100 yards from where i live. The building was bought by the university in the 50's or so, when i was a student in the early 70's it was Post Graduate rooms. Then it became a nursing home which got shut down 5 or 6 years ago for poor health and safety. The Pearson family are still going strong in the area, i taught the great granddaughter or maybe great great granddaughter of the second person on the plaque. |

This is the foundation stone for the Victoria Hotel near Beeston Station and winner of many CAMRA awards. Usually they are to some local bigwig, but C Howard Tripp was the Manager of Ind. Coope and wrote the first book on managing a brewery collated from his articles in the Brewers Journal. If you have any interest in the history of Beer you may care to read this irep.ntu.ac.uk |

This has a few dates on it, the main one being 2019 when this bridge named after Stewart Adams opened. He was the lead scientist at Boots responsible for Ibuprofen. The bridge links the University Boulevard with the Nottingham - Beeston Canal and is a godsend to our winter training, we use it as part of a 1k off-road rep with a hill (the bridge crossing the railway lines from Nottingham to Derby). It also forms part of many local runs now. |
