We are dropping this. Been good, but finding what was constrictive in a positive way, less so now. Contrived to get shots that fulfil the word that we would never normally use, and make us feel like they lack merit. On a positive note. It has kicked us back into a habit having been around the alphabet twice. That's 52 days of consistency We are going to keep the habit, but open it up and publish elsewhere. Our new criteria is 4 interesting images a day, but whatever catches our eye.
Thanks Em and all. We will keep looking in to see what nice pictures are going up

Not the right day for me architecturally as well as weather wise as it was chucking it down for much of my run. This was what I got between showers.
I used to have lunch on the 5th floor of a building at Leicester Uni and would always see this building on the horizon but I never knew where it was.
Controversial tower built for student lodgings
Some nicer buildings on Narborough Road gone to ruin
This one is actually from yesterday. Another nice building in need of some love.

The pump at Wollaton Village has never been used, the canopy is 19th century.

Wollaton Hall, home of the National XC, well the ground are. Wayne Manor or Batman's house as it is now known. Built in the 1580's, well worth a visit.

Wollaston Hall is, well, gothic.
And I quite like the student accommodation
Weavers cottage- the windows in the top floor to allow maximum light
Industrial architecture. Again the roof angled to allow the light
And not a building. But a beautiful (in my opinion) combination of engineering and architecture. They're not so far apart. The overflow at a local reservoir

I love old functional architecture that is also beautifully designed, like the water tower a few pages back. Things like old art deco telephone exchange buildings too - there's no reason for them to have had the design features and some of the materials used other than for aesthetics... almost like they thought ahead to a time when some as-yet-not-pregnant couple decide they want to live in it and go on Grand Designs
