Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

*Shuffles feet over the to the 700 thread.*

That was challenging. I ended up finishing a ridiculous 28th /~240 starters helped by a 50% DNF rate. Normally I would be 50-100th

The secret weapon was buying 3 calippos at Reigate and shoving them down my “cooling sleeves”

ar - the forest was quite empty yesterday. Not sure if it was because Saturday is 'travel day' and M3/A31 just clogged instead? Local wisdom (ie bar staff at the Royal Oak) said they were busy at lunchtime but on hot days people head to the beach rather than walks in the forest. It did mean we had a pleasant few pints after our walk.

I was trying out my new lens (arrived Friday) on a loop from Cadman's Pool. One of the few spots still with water.
Very pleased with results, may need to go back out today. Lacal and back roads only - closest to A31 will be driving underneath it.

Once again, brilliant stuff Dave, 100 💯 miles, in that heat as well.

Well done as well to Bint & Pompey Paul. At least you had the good sense to pack when your “internal engines” started to overheat.
What great 👍 running 🏃🏼‍♀️ from all three of you.

Back to us mere mortals. I ran 6 miles this morning. I had a shower when I got in, but I’m still 😓 sweating as I’m typing this.

Enjoy what’s left of the weekend everyone.

Hope you get a rest today NDWDave.
I would say brilliant and how impressed I am, with you & Bint & pp, but I've decided you're all nutters. Yesterday was the perfect day for a 4 mile walk and a few pints.
Not a 100 mile run up and down those hills.

I think I'll stick to my 'regime' for now ... ;-)

Really well done to all three of Dave, Bint & Paul. Think the DNF rate speaks for itself. Better that than in hospital with heatstroke!

Happy birthday weekend, Mrs. Jigs.
Astonishing achievement Bint bunting, NDW Dave bunting, PP bunting. Cannot begin to imagine what kind of hell it must have been like.

Not-a-parkrun done at 9 a.m. in case it was going to get hotter later, but actually it hasn't. Walking back up the hill at the end (cool-down walk) I saw something on the path ahead of me, making floundering movements. At first thought perhaps it was a dying mouse, but getting closer found it was a small toad. Seemed very unhappy on a dry dusty pavement. I slid it onto my phone and carried it across the road to deposit it in some grass. Maybe it'll die anyway, but more comfortable to die in damp grass - if you're a toad, that is.
