(Although it reminds me of the time my F-i-L did have an invasion of cattle from a nearby farm in his garden! They escaped somehow, got stuck down a cul-de-sac and went on a bit of a panicked rampage. Everybody got new lawns out of it....) |

[3M - wasn't near Knaresborough, was it? I remember being one of the farm staff trying to get ramaging cattle out of a rather posh village cul-de-sac ... those houses definitely needed new lawns!].

[Deepest Cheshire, stilldreaming! Just goes to show that cows will be cows wherever, I suppose! The description of the village fits though.]

(I had them in my back garden on a couple occasions. I worked from home and thought I was seeing things when I peered out the office window, but they were definitely there. Forgive the quality of the pic - this was from 2010 and my phone camera was poor quality! I had deer in there as well, but they were very nervous and it was difficult to get a pic of them). |

Fragile Do Not Bend
[Been there, done that. The field next to our house is usually used for crops or grazing cattle, but one winter the farmer leant it out to a sheep farmer instead. The owner of the sheep was supposed to be responsible for making sure the field was secure - but although waist high barbed wire deters cattle, funnily enough sheep can duck under it as they are shorter 😅. Thankfully we know the farmer as he is a neighbour]

We had piglets once - when the local ag college rented a local field and failed to turn on the electric fence. They got everywhere!
