@richmac these are very accurate builds and very much show you’re developing skill set. Nicely done bud.

Bit more paint. Next thing is to detail all the tools, add the peripherals, the cables and mg. Then the extra details and weathering. |

Half finished chassis of a German 8 tonne half track. Airbrushed on a base German grey colour, then used a dry brush with chrome paint. Finished with a black pin wash and streaking grime…….🚒😂 |

The Tiger is looking great in its camouflage. Looking forward to seeing the next step. I thought that half track chassis was a highly detail all metal kit. That is some amazing paint job! |

Thanks chaps, I’ll try to finish off the steering rack this week. The colours dried really well over night.

Nearly there. Got all the cables on, the AA Mg and spare track links also had to make a barrel for the hull Mg, the proper one melted! I need to detail the tools on the front of the hull the the weathering needs a bit more doing before I'm happy the Vallejo mud & grass is ace for covering up the horlicks I made of the tracks! Extra bits: from pics on tinterweb I noticed that often the paint at the rear right of the turret was worn away on the rim above that circular escape(?) hatch, so I tried to recreate that by painting steel colour first, then citadel 'ardcoat, then normal paint & I used a suede brush to wear that away in the right place not sure how well it shows on these pics. I've added a couple of jerry cans on the back, Sub MG hung from the track links on the left and also a tree trunk made from left over parts spider clamped in the mechanics vice to rough it up then painted with Citadel 'Stirland mud' for a bit of texture. I got these ideas from pics I also noticed thinks like helmets hung on the outside but ran out of ideas on making these ! |
