A snapshot of my cadence analysis handily reveals an improvement in the last 90 days (green bars) vs the last year as a whole (grey bars). This is a really useful tool for keeping track of progress. |

You are right Dvorak, my mistake. Cadence of 180 is the best! I was erroneously quoting from the "Chi Running" book where it stated that anything lower than 170 was too slow. I checked mine this morning and have fallen well below the ideal , what with that and my other issues I need a kick up the rear! You're doing really well there FChicken, progressing in a sensible way . Two miles at 30/30 for this first time since my lurgy was challenging this morning but ok because it was short. Any further and I'd be out for the count at the moment! |

Well done Steve. I'm sure the cadence will gradually shift back closer to the ideal over time.

Love your cadence graph Funky Chicken, I shall have to have a play and see if I can find mine. I just keep looking at the monthly infographic. Fascinating. My cadence definitely too low!

My cadence definitely too low! If you’re doing an even amount of walking and running as part of an individual activity, the walking will skew the average, but if you scroll down through the various graphs etc, it also separates out the running and walking chunks to give a better idea of your running pace and cadence - you might find that figure a bit more reassuring! |

steve45 my mum has now made week 4 and really has embraced the journey. I believe she is running more than me from a time point of view 😀 |

That's great stuff Gobi, week four already! Your Mum must be more than pleased with that. Thanks for the update and without a doubt she's doing better than I am too. I've got my discussion with my consultant next week. There's not going to be any miracle but it'll be good to know the precise issues noted in my stress test . As it is I only did two miles walk/run again today, my HR was way too high on the 30 second run bits. Cadence was good at 180 for those short periods. |

I’m currently on week 3 of a Garmin 10K training plan. It’s meant for continuous running but I’m adapting it to suit my jeffing runs. Yesterday was a 3 mile ‘easy’ run : I’m in Wales for the weekend so I did Nova Prestatyn parkrun. I ran it as a continuous run, first mile ‘easy’ then I got carried away so mile 2 & 3 were a bit faster! Today was : 2.5 mile ‘easy’ : I did 5 min run/1 min walk ave pace about 11.30. 1 mile ‘steady’ : I did 60:30 ave pace 10.50 0.5 mile ‘hard’ : I did 30 sec fast/30 sec walk ave pace 10.32 Pleased with that. |
