Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Both wife and I quite badly stung by jellyfish in the med in Malta. Not dangerous, but very unpleasant. Think bee stings (multiple about a dozen for me and a couple for missus). Do watch out. Obv don't know if these ones are stinging types. :-) G

I think these ones are stingy ones - didn't plan on getting in water with them. Think it's a compass jelly fish

We are staying in Bonchester bridge in the Scottish boarders this week. We planned to SUP at Kielder water but just found out it’s not permitted. Does anyone know the area and can suggest anywhere we could go?

We’ll then be at Blyth Northumberland for the weekend so up for suggestions of beaches that might be good for SUP around there as well.

That's Borders. Nearly England! The only place I know that way is St Mary's Loch, about 1 hour away. It has a saing club so I'm sure you could paddleboard. Lovely part of the world. :-) G
