Logs are done, half of the ironing is done, and I have worked out I don't *need* to shop today so will do that after work tomorrow instead. Which is good because according to my Mum (who is the authority on these matters) Tesco car park is hell on wheels.

A Wombling Merry Christmas (Welsh W
Hello everyone, and happy new year - in true Womble style I am very late onto the parade ground but it wasn't to do with too much drink ;-) I had a very sober NYE as I volunteered to drive. After putting a friend to bed, I grabbed 5 hours sleep before I set off for parkrun. The knee was a bit niggly and the park was quite slippery due to the rain, and mud churned up from Saturday's parkrun so I donned a high viz jacket and supervised the scanners :-) Then I ran about a mile home before setting my objectives for 2017:-

Sub 36 @ 5km
Sub 75 @ 10km
Run my first half marathon

Next event is a 5 miler at the end of January so have been out for a 4 miler today - more mud so need to get my trail shoes on.

Have a fab 2017 everyone.

Fragile Do Not Bend
On my second parkrun yesterday, I wiped my nose on my sleeve, then loooked up to see a camera pointing my way. I was thinking it was a good job I was too far away from the photographer when it happened...

Hark the Helegant Angels Sing
Hello again. Great photo above ;-)
Normally my knees are as protected as they can be by my run-walk strategy, but today was different.

I ran a test SAP mile today as part of my first non-stop run since, 'I-don't-know-when'. Without putting in enough effort to hurt myself, and being very, very sensible, I managed 13:23. That's made me happy as it suggests I'm safely on the way back from a discouraging couple of years.
If I don't get to my first Bedford Parkrun this Saturday then that will be my January time. Otherwise I'll take the time from Parkrun.

Good starts to the year going on - well done everyone. :)

Wom, good targets there for starters.
Nut, I think you could target 500 miles this year. If you join the 500 thread as well you'll get extra motivation.
Hel, your mile run sounds good, it'll give you a good benchmark for the year.
Frag, I love your pic, I carry tissues around when I run. ;-)

Lem, good cross training - wood chopping - is it in the list? If not, I'm sure Fetch'll put it in if you request it.

Like the pic :-)

As with last year, I'm slow out of the blocks ... :-o

I run and my nose copies, I carry a hankie in one pocket and a sweat rag in the other.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I had a tissue stuffed down my bra but my nose was particularly drippy that day and I couldn't be bothered to keep fishing it out. That's what sleeves are for, right? 😅
