Mandymoo I am so tempted - I am keen to try new things this year. Last year was very meh, can't say I did much of anything and mainly due to being so down because of work.

This year work can sod off, not letting it get me down! I am going to try and be brave and do races that scare me a bit! Signed up for a long distance walking association one locally in March sometime that requires some navigation. I have always shied away from events that require navigation. Which is daft, because I am actually good at map reading (and I have a geography degree, so you know, how hard can it be?!). I'm hoping between me and Mr L we can get round, and if we get lost at least we are together and he has an uncanny ability to locate pubs!

Nutso you do work hard, and from the photo a few pages back it is working so good on you! I couldn't do one press up! Glad you are also up and running on your running target for the year star

I may do. Like I say, I certainly 'feel' slow ~ but, then again, there's always the challenge for coming in last ;-) (though I don't want to be a part of (or being party to) detracting the value of what is a great idea ~ celebrating and being proud of 'just doing', if that makes sense? )

I didn't go out anywhere today. This lurgy is so weird - I feel more or less okay in myself. The cough's just about gone away but I can't breathe too deeply. I spent most of the afternoon trying to get my Garmin problem sorted but no further forward yet. :-p I'm going out for a nice walk with a friend tomorrow, on the flat, by the sea and we'll do a bit of bird watching while there.

DQ, 60 press-ups is loads, I couldn't do that many. Not sure I like the sound of a dreadmill though. ;-)

Lem, go on, you know you want to. I'd like to meet you and collect your sticker. :)

I went a bit mad earlier and have signed up for the Beachy Head 10k. :)

Go on Lem you know you want to ;)

3.31 miles done tonight, though thankfully no sleet even though LG is just a few miles away! I've been looking to do a few different races this year instead of all the usual ones. I have another pair of new shoes so have to justify their purchase! :-O

So many events I fancy doing, I'm spilt for choice really. I need to retire early so I can concentrate on my running ;-)

Fragile Do Not Bend
I would like to do Beachy, everyone I know that has done it says it is great, but I don't dare enter until I've built my mileage up a bit more. I don't think I want to do a race that scares me!

Nutso Lazytoad!
Decorum don't be daft its about recording a time and competing with yourself :) besides last wins gold :)

L10 Thank you :) Press ups are just progression and practice as I once upon a time couldn't do one either

Alpen sorry to hear your still poorly, good luck getting the garmin sorted. Thanks on the pressups, they just take practice and a modified version to start with, they get pretty ugly towards the end!

DQ Well done on getting out in the cold, happy new shoes :)

All I have to say today is ouch! Tomorrow I shall do a gym session at lunch kill or cure and all that!

Decorum I do understand, so if you don't enter I won't take it personally! You are certainly one of the faster ones amongst us - but always welcome here.

Hard to drag myself into work today, still waiting to move offices, HR dragging their feet. Meanwhile still looking for something else and trying very hard to stay positive.

Beachy (as an idea) has passed the first thing in the morning test. Last night I was wavering to my other option which is one week earlier than Beachy, trying a back to back marathon effort but at an easy course (laps) in Kent with Saxons Vikings and Normans. Both options are very tempting but this morning when I woke up I was thinking Beachy would just be more of an adventure. Decisions hey, never easy!

have a lovely day all!
