I have one MTB and one only - a fat bike will appear if I live in Canada or the arctic but not before.
Did just shy of 2hrs today and given I'm only just getting back on the bike again very surprised with how smooth I was.

Can't see the point of fat bikes unless you ride on sand or snow.

They *are* an acquired taste - and not being evangelical, I really don't mind whether you acquire it or not ๐
For me the point is... that they are incredibly forgiving and flattering: you don't need any skill to ride one off road, no finesse and no need to pick a line ๐The grip and sure-footedness takes care of all that. Although I often think good legs would be useful...

Horses for courses I s'pose. First go riding one today and that was all it took - I'm hooked. All I have to compare it to is my hardtail, which I love. It's unforgiving, and requires me to be 'on it' all the time. But I do love riding it.
The FAT is completely different, it took the 'worry factor' away from MTBing allowing me to relax (well, not on the uphills) and just enjoy cruising down the trails. It's not better or worse than the hardtail - just different; and I really hope Mr Jubear lets me borrow it again
