We've just had those put in as well, ER. All the bins under desks have gone and we have got to get up an cross the office to use the bin.
As for gear grinding, senior management want us to recycle more yet we have colleagues who will dispose of literally anything in the paper/card bin. I do get concerned about the mindset of people I work with and wonder what their home environment must be like.

spending all swimming lessons this week with a pool full of plastic bottles to "raise awareness" - and then having balloons and all sorts of single-use plastics sanctioned for the charity day fete thingy because "it's for charity"...

We have ordinary bins and recycling bins at work, however being a building open to the public, there is usually no discernible difference in the contents of each type of bin. Not sure of the point really.

Oooh RH, I'd be furious too.
Our bins at work are the same - mixed in everything.

Expectations of the local police force. Bear with me here.......
In our area there has been a flasher 'operating' for the last 9 months or so. He's appeared 6-ish times in an area covering 20 odd square miles. Same m.o. each time although there are questions now as to whether it is just the one of them
According to local Facebook experts, police should be utilising undercover officers to find him, or have a plain clothes policewoman jogging around the area to lure him out. I feel that this request may go unheeded

I get the impression that people would like there to be a police officer on every corner, but without raising taxes to pay for it. They shouldn’t be allowed breaks and they should only be targeting ‘real criminals’ and not speeding drivers.

“Gala Bingo.com happily sponsors The Chase”
I didn’t think they were doing it under duress.
