And the white wagtails are over here in increasing numbers too.
Apparently there's been talk about getting them to drive HGVs and pick strawberries.

But they refused to do it on 3 month visas.

Dipper again and the mistle thrush sound clash (they are 30 feet apart either side of a path) is ongoing. I wonder if they mimic each other because they sound very similar

We ended up back at Brandon Marsh today as Dave was off work and he needed to try the coffee and cake in the new cafe….
The usual suspects were still there from Wednesday (still no gannet though 🤣🙄 plus sleeping Wigeon this time) on the water….
however, we counted 42 snipe in front of one hide and three in the sun on one of the islands…..
I tried a photo through my ‘knockers….
I managed to get six in this one….

That's a lot of snipe! I've seen a couple recently, singly, and that's been exciting enough.

We are getting big numbers of Snipe at the moment. 30-40 being reported most days.
Mix of Winter and Spring on this morning's run. Lots of Redwing about, a Goldeneye within 400m of the house and regular visits to the feeder by a flock of LTTs which are really indicators of Winter but the same time the GSWs are drumming and the Bullfinches are in full plummage and disputing territories. I wonder who is making the right call on February's weather?

One of ff’s GSW heard this morning here in Brontë country. My first of the spring. I guess I’m six weeks away now from the start of spending three weeks listening out for my first chiffchaff

Fair number of drumming GSWs here. That always starts up in January, a very early spring sign.
