A group of 14 swifts is practicing a Red Arrows routine very high above my garden and screaming to tell me to watch them.

Great day at Blacktoft and Alkborough Flats. Lots of very visible Bearded Tits (best was four in the bins together), Spoonbill, several Marsh Harrier including a pair passing prey in flight, Avocets with chicks (and plenty more), Spotted Redshank, Redshank, Greenshank, Green Sandpaper, loads of Ruff in every stage of plumage going (one very resplendent male still with full ruff), several very visible Reed Warblers, Sedge, Cettis, Blackcap, Chiffchaffs, Black Tailed Godwit, Water Rail, Great White and Little Egret and much more. 56 species in total. Then I drove over to Flamborough and had a run up the coast path watching the masses of Puffins, Razorbill, Guillemot, Gannets and Kittiwakes stacked up on the cliffs. Proper wander round Bempton planned for tomorrow.

Can I ask for expert advice? Caught on take off in the Peak District (White Edge) - can anyone identify it for me? (none of my bird books here)
Thanks

I don't suppose there's an app that recognises birdsong is there? _ I think I could recognise most common garden and farmland birds - but a couple of morning songs recently have left me stumped.....

Lucky timing ... I wasn't trying for a take off shot - just glad it was still in the frame!
