Oh my Dragonfly spikes have a spike pointing at an angle! Lasted 3 races! Straightened it before this race but it's unsurprisingly gone again after this race.

I had the same problem with both shoes, I spoke with Nike customer support through the app and they refunded me (their exchange system was down). I ordered a replacement pair and had them in my grubby mitts a few days later. Such a great spike but a bit fragile and don't get me started on white spikes!! 🤦 |

Alun I've taken a pic and was planning to contact CS so good to know. Yes it's a great spike and fits me extremely well. I have the multi coloured one but I expect I'll end with the white one if replaced as they don't have that colour anymore (last I checked anyway). I expect the changes they made (I actually like the fit of the XC better than standard for some reason) don't include strengthening the spike plate.

Looks like the Dragonfly XC is no longer on Nike's site. Guess XC season is almost done.

Looks like the Dragonfly XC is no longer on Nike's site. Guess XC season is almost done. Wow, they went quickly, I'm glad that I bought a new pair when I did. I bought 2 pairs in early November when they were reduced and then had a further discount, paid £95 each. They are incredible shoes though, fast underfoot and protect my calf muscles in exactly the same way as the track version. I have 3 or maybe 4 cross country races left this season and just like every previous year I'll finish the last one in March and be looking forwards to the next one in October...🤣 |

Will be interesting to see the new pairs last for you. They're too expensive to not last a few seasons IMO. My last XC spikes lasted from 2017 to 2023 and might have lasted longer if I hadn't risked washing them as I had a spare brand new pair plus the dragonfly XC. |

Spikes need to be looked after if they're to last more than 1 season, clean them in a bucket of soapy water as soon as possible and try to avoid drying them too aggressively in the airing cupboard. My first pair gave up after 4 races and 4 training sessions (40 miles), hopefully the second pair will last a bit longer because £5 per mile is quite a high price for the performance?? |

Hills of Death (HOD)
Third XC in a row cancelled this time not for MUD. It’s lack of car parking apparently this is dangerous 🤷🏻♂️

Second pair of Dragonfly XC spikes ruined in exactly the same way but only managed two races this time. They're just so fragile... |
