I have just started XC this season as well - enjoying it so far, although disappointed i didn't get to wear my new spikes last week! 4 XC races in 4 weeks, followed by long runs the day after! Lets hope it's all doing me some good!!

Try the Parliament Hill one if you want "proper hills" Boo! Most of the League courses have steep hills. The Pirie 10 is also very hilly.

Had a great run yesterday :-) A new course at Cranford. Pretty flat but with a river to run through twice and a very muddy river bank. Great fun. I ran a blinder yesterday and would have beaten my 5K PB had the course been 5 rather than 6K. The woodlant trails on the course were a bit hard for my spikes and that slowed me a bit. After the race, our manager gave me a pair of waffles that were too small for him. Perfect! South of the Thames next week then a few weeks before the next one.

completed (yeah, calf held up) my first XC for 20 months. normally it is very boggy in the finishing 200 yards and has good muddy areas throughout. today i did it in road shoes, and they were cleaner when i finished than when i started thanks to the polishing by the tufty grass. feet feel a bit sore, the same way when you walk over a bouldery summit like Scafell Pike

*starts rain dance for our XC in 2 weeks time*
