Seems like thousands more need to die next year to satisfy the egos of generals and politicians. Heard attrition rate of new Ukrainian recruits is 50% within a month and the average age of conscripts is 40. Meanwhile Ukraine is massively in debt at crippling interest rates, and risk losing their prime human capital causing demographic shockwaves. Peace would be a good result for all except arms manufacturers surely. |

And except all the Ukrainians murdered, raped, dispossessed, tortured, abducted, disappeared, displaced, and generally subjugated by the Russian invaders.

And except all the Ukrainians murdered, raped, dispossessed, tortured, abducted, disappeared, displaced, and generally subjugated by the Russian invaders. But don’t you want that to stop? And peace is the way for that to happen. |

Grim reports from the front line. archive.ph Soldiers being sacrificed to try and capture a few marshy acres. The words suicide mission are used, presumably a desperate attempt to have something to show for the lives already wasted. Reminiscent of WW1 where competing imperial powers killed millions of working class for nothing. Generals far out of range directing the slaughter. Seems morale is very low. Perhaps there will be a people’s uprising just like 1917. |

Total casualties in the Russian Civil War which followed the revolution = 7-12 million.

Total casualties in the Russian Civil War which followed the revolution = 7-12 million. Exactly my point, more death and turmoil. Who wants that? The best thing is for both parties to discuss peace and to prevent anymore bloodshed. |

An interesting take, considering what Putin might do if there is a ceasefire in Ukraine. warontherocks.com |

So Ukraine sinks another major Russian warship, the Novocherkassk. Which apparently had been transporting Shahed drones for use against Ukraine. This after downing a number of the supposedly latest and greatest Su-34 bombers, by unexplained means. Possibly a Patriot SAM battery or, they would like us to believe but I'm sceptical, with the unnanounced arrival of some F-16s. Still got plenty of fight left. Imagine what they could do if they didn't have one arm tied behind their backs by the delays and arguments over what to give them and how they should use it. |
