Lol. On a serious note though, more air time (air/ ground ratio) is a likely result of them working. In addition that staying more consistent over a marathon is another likely result.

So did some research
The 17.11 and 17.20 are times 1 and 2 on my fastest list since 2016 or 1 and 3 doing back to 2015.
I ran well in 2014 and had 3 sub 17s that year so they become numbers 5 and 7.
Maybe I am training better again but...

Interesting...
Really impressed with mine so far in my last two speedwork sessions at club after a lot of time off with pretty much back to back injuries. Looking forward to racing in them at the county road relays Saturday week!

Couple of cracking pics of the VFs in action. I'm still worrying that I've oversized upward in mine. It's definitely a problem when ordering from the web - I've been disappointed previously when I've ordered a 10 or 10.5 but the Zoom elites I had from Nike were a good fit in an 11 so just went with that again, but they're definitely on the loose side for my liking.
Also in 2 minds about taking them for another spin before Sunday's Retford HM.

Looks like IAAF will be reviewing the Nike Spikes Laura Muir wore and the Vaporflys after her win this weekend. The stores because they are not reasonably available to all and the VFs because they shouldn't be offering compressive advantage to runners.
Seems like old ground to me

Thicker socks - though maybe that would lose the magic bounce Mine are definitely on the snug side compared to most of my 11s.
Might try mine again tomorrow for a few faster efforts. Though the half on Saturday is probably plenty of time to get used to them again

Availability to all is a fair point. As for the technical advantage of the VF, it's hard to see where a line can be drawn. There are limits on sole thickness (at least for some events) and you could do the same for min weight if desired.

@SKR - do you know what shoes KoKo was wearing in the 3000m? As she's NOP you'd have thought she'd get the "best of the best" in terms of Nike developed kit but I couldn't work out if she was in the same spikes or not.

Availability to all is a nonsense though with sponsored athletes. You could sign a 3 year contract with Nike today, and then in 12 months Adidas have the shoe to beat all shoes - and you wouldn't have access to it.

? That comment makes no sense to me larkim. "Reasonably available to all" to all does not mean that athletes cannot contractually oblige themselves to wear something else, it means the shoe is available to anyone.
