Vaporfly Next% 2 goes on sale next Thursday, and they've reduced the price by £30 to £209.95

nike.com

It makes the release of a new colourway in v1 just a few days ago at £239 a strange decision, and guess they'll sell even fewer Alphafly at £259 as most seem to still prefer the vf over the af.

Looks like midsole and outsole remain unchanged, all the changes to the upper, and gets a good review here

I've still got a barely worn pair of 4%, so not for me, but look good !

Still weird seeing a shoe with such a big stack as a racing shoe let alone the best racing shoe.

Is there enough racing for people to be buying? Events are off/postponed all round the world, not just here.

Shoe companies are still developing and releasing new race models - seen pics of New Balance RC v2 ( huge !! they've gone for full 40mm whereas v1 was only 32mm ) and Endorphin Pro v2, etc.

Linked to Olympics perhaps, if they want their athletes to be able to use them they have to be on general release for x weeks before use I seem to recall ?

Wasn't that rule before we had the stack height rule?

Also there's a new rule regarding prototypes but can't remember how long a shoe can be a prototype.

Slight downward pressure on what Nike can charge as competitors seem to be catching up and pricing a fair bit lower?

Adios Pro were available for about 10 mins last week, I got a pair for just over 150 with cashback

Chris - how much use on the new shoes ? Nike allow a refund after a trial run within 60 days, so if just one/two runs you could consider returning them and buy v2 and save £30 ??
nike.com

SPR - ahh yes I forgot they recently changed the rules again and allow prototypes, can't quite remember the precise rules. But anyway, given fuzzyduck's experience, looks like there's still plenty demand for top line racing shoes.

fuzzyduck, I think you're right there - they no longer have anything like a monopoly. For example, the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro, worn by the guy who broke the world HM record in December as well as a couple of others who were also inside the previous world record, sells for considerably less than the Nikes. (That is, if you can get hold of them - all rather notional otherwise).

Sorry, fuzzyduck, just saw you mentioned the very same shoe.
