It's ok, I bear no grudges....and anyway I'm just replicating some of the Harriers/County rivalry, not sure what of it is/was justified!

Of course you're welcome!

IF you do decide to come back to Sandy after all (I've just been catching up with the Sandy-bashing over the previous couple of pages) then do let me know. The track is now run by Biggleswade Athletic Club (based, of course, in Sandy) - of which I am a member. Not sure I can promise "'mates' rates" (it's currently £20 per hour) - but it might help with admin (the secretary lives about 200m away from me). Really hope I will be able to make the next one (be it in Bedford or elsewhere) as was disappointed to miss the last one. The kids would also enjoy it, and Mrs J would need little persuasion to provide cake support (production or consumption).

And FWIW Sandy has some nice bits, but also some pretty nasty bits. Four Indians (restaurants, not residents), two Chinese, a Budgens as already mentioned, and by next year a new Tesco. Personally I think it lacks the sense of community that nearby Potton has - but offset (for me) by the station. Handy for running too - within a few minutes of the town centre you can be on the Route 51 cycle track, the Greensands Ridge or the RSPB nature reserve (nice hilly trails), but plenty of safe and well lit routes round the town for winter evenings.
