I'm not 3.30 material, haven't got the minerals for it. But as hinted at by the lovely Clare I'm well made up with 3:38 on a course (Kent RoadRunner) that rates significantly tougher in ascent that Abingdon/Bungay/Foxy's etc.

as I've said many times, I reckon it is easier to run a PB on an undulating course than a flat one ;-)

I'm going to have another pop at sub-3.30 on a valid course this autumn, either at Mablethorpe on 7th October, or if the weather won't allow (it was as hot as the sun's core last year) at Town Moor on 28th October. Got some stuff to prove to some clubmates...

Signed up for Loch Ness 30/09/12. Previous PB 3:33 Edinburgh 2009 (followed by a sluggish, undertrained 3:59 the year later!)

Point to point, very undulating. Anybody had experience of the course?

Ade, I'm doing it and was chatting to a girl last night at club who is hoping to go sub 3:30 from current PB of 3:46 at Edinburgh. She reckons Loch Ness is a better PB course. Need to be strong for the biggish hill and then second wee hill at 19 miles, but net downhill, not crowded, and I know a number of peeps who have it as their PB course. Good luck to us all! :-)G

Hi and welcome Ade :-) Not got any knowledge of Loch Ness but Happy's view sounds fab. I have holidayed up there and it is a beautiful place to run :-)

Officaly well done to FR and Hellen :-) FR, I bet you have got a 3:30 there if you wanted it and were to focus on one specifc target race, but running is something we do for enjoyment, so no need to chase the time milestones if you have other motivators :-) do stick around though as your experience helps us all :-)
