I see that Tom Hollins has moved up to third place, good to see a Brit in the top three Carol Morgan is doing brilliantly, just spoke to SimonF [her hubby] and he says she's in top spirits and moving well, looks like she's not far from Hawes It's all very exciting |

Saw over on fb details of the penalty. Be interesting to see the fallout.

Rhb there was a section around midnight last when the ran on the road rather than the Pennine Way , gaining 20 minutes on the field so we're given the 20 minutes plus 50% time penalty , both accepted the penalty as fair I've read elsewhere

Actually, that was vol 3. Vol 4 is here: facebook.com It's a shame that such a phenomenal event has to be associated with such a miserable rag as Trail Running magazine. I suppose it's reality, sponsorship and publicity is very important. Still takes the gloss of it though |

Coincidentally Northern Exile me and Stef have just been looking at the films. It's a shame the whole thing is so commercial but such cap value (IMHO). The "checkpoint" I saw last year was a tressle table with a few bottles of water

I'm following my club mate Paul Nelson who was running with Carol Morgan. It looks like he's pulled ahead a bit. I'd guess overnight some of the places will change as people take rests?

Paul is going really well. He had some problems with his shoes earlier on and there has been a scramble to find some replacement Salomon laces (you know, the thin ones with the draw cord), I was all set to bomb up to Horton with some! I think FF has sorted him out though, good man I think Carol and Paul are both resting in Hawes for a bit, they're just in separate vehicles. |
