Sigh
Yesterday, I've agreed with my boss that my last working day will be Friday, 28 July and that I'll use one of my days to book 31st off as annual leave. I said, "Shall I block our diaries out for that morning?" She replied, "Block the whole day out, we can go out for lunch somewhere too." As always, it's the people you'll miss, never the work. |

I once worked at a practice where random lunches/dinners out were part of the culture. Becoming part of a consortium knocked that bit of loveliness out of the job.

The last company I worked at, my boss would take his team out for lunch or dinner on the company almost every week. I’ve no idea how he got away with it. I put on so much weight whilst working there, largely thanks to this along with an expectation of working very late.
