I'm assuming no inheritances at all. I am forecasting my life to age 100 and will profile my retirement spend accordingly. My kids' best hope of a significant inheritance is my untimely death. So hopefully they're not reading this.

Velociraptor in the lead up to my retirement, NHSPS was extremely helpful and informative, and when I gave comparatively short notice (6 weeks) of my retirement they got everything sorted out in time so there was no delay in my pension being paid. :-)

That was quite a few years ago so things may have changed but I hope you have a similar experience.

Last time I tried I found NHSPS very helpful and PCSE a nightmare of obfuscation and mansplaining. But I have ten months to play with and I'll feel a lot better once I know it's in progress.

67 for me which is 2030 and they better not bloody move it again. Although I want to be retired long before then.

If the nursing home doesn’t swallow up all my dad’s money we should be left with something decent.

I’m trying my best to hold onto my own property to leave to my son although he says I should be spending now.

My Dad has just got a new partner; depending on how that progresses who knows what it means for what if anything will pass to me when the time comes.

He’s 70, so quite young and been retired since 55. He’s pretty healthy bar smoking a few tabs each day. Who knows though with care home requirement for either or both of them in the future etc

I suspect me being able to pay off mortgage or retire early is contingent on an inheritance but it’s both fatuous and presumptuous to make it part of my planning as it may never happen.

No dependents for me, I expect I’ll make a mix of charitable donations and pass whatever else I have on to my nieces and maybe the kids of some close friends.

Yep, our will's beneficiaries are Sue's brother, the church, the local wildlife trust, the Cats' Protection League and the British Museum, if memory serves.
