jan 20 the pool started opening at 6 which was fab and the OAPS were still there!


They have to get the swim done early so that they can start queuing outside the Post Office at 8.30!

Don’t forget to work on your car park meter skills. NEVER complete your transaction until there’s an exasperated queue of at least 8 behind you.

Plenty of techniques to deploy, but always always treat the machine as if you’ve never seen one before and you really don’t trust it.

And don’t forget that little turn of speed that gets you to the machine JUST before the very obviously really busy and rushed person heading there.

I have a special 50p that will get rejected TROSaracen. You can't just roll up and annoy people without preparation. I have to try it 3 or 4 times before I search all over for another, making sure I occupy the machine all the time. And I find the queue helps, because I can then ask them if anyone has a spare to swap, or change for it.

Mind you, I was caught by someone 20p short and wanting change. I just gave her 20p to get her to move on.

I'm thinking of adapting my plan to have a walking stick and drop some money and then spend ages trying to pick it up.

The app round here (RingGo) charges 40p transaction fee on top. FORTY PEE!

Think you might be onto something there Um. With the right amount of gawping confusedly at the 50p, the machine and the general vicinity the perpetually rejecting 50p could be an absolute winner.

Get them in the stores for Xmas…..
