I really appreciated being retired this morning whilst lying in a toasty warm bed listening to people outside scraping their windscreens 🙂

I don't miss regularly having to de-ice the car (although I had to this morning because I was going to sort out an issue at mum's house). That said, I'm going to Gran Canaria at the end of this week and staying there for a month. Definitely something that I can only appreciate because of retirement!

I don't miss it either now my office is across the landing, but I would love not to have to make that commute any more. Mr gg may not have too for much longer. He is in the office and plan is to hand in his notice. He is stating 'to pursue other options' which in reality means he is taking semi-retirement. He wants to do lots of jobs on the house and in the garden, spend more time boating (with view to selling that next year/year after) and when I finish we will aim to go travelling. Pix forgot to add earlier, its only 1month notice. It will fit in nicely with my recovery he can look after me even more than he does now. Hope you get things sorted for your mum Ness, your holiday is the thing of dreams! |

I've done everything I can for her, GG. I get the impression your mam is a bit the same, she's got a bit of a stubborn streak! 😉 Hope you do get to do the traveling you want. |

We released a major new version of our software in December each year. Until I retired it was my responsibility to coordinate the release and ensure it got out of the door on time. Have just exchanged texts with the colleague who took that over when I retired. I'm so glad I don't have that any more |

he's done it.... retirement phase has started. Gosh I am grinning like a cheshire cat and so proud of him. I am the throw caution to the wind, he is my levelling stone. Now can I last until May 2026?? hahaha |
