It’s one of my retirement ambitions to volunteer at something like an Olympic Games or the Edinburgh Book Festival.

Because of the weird way London 2012 was organised, once we moved on site I was a GamesMaker (volunteer) even though I was being paid for by a Home Office grant. It was nice.

I’d like to do some volunteer stuff- I have a shortlist- but I’ve promised myself not to commit to anything long term until April 2026 (it’s a fellowship/tbogua thing)

We have had a fab but not cheap holiday. The villa is only free for two weeks next August and so we have booked it. Times like this are priceless This means we probably work on to next summer. Mrs axe has a start date for her part time role but is now wondering if she should take it or not. I am trying to tell her to take it. |
