Yes final salary schemes are awesome but you can see why they were deemed unaffordable. I put into mine for 21 years and will be drawing out for 30 odd years (ave life expectancy) and could go 5-10 years more. |

I wonder when I will hear from my teeny weeny pension potlet in the Netherlands... It matures in January... I thought it was last January but it wasn't... I had only just started it when I moved to the UK nearly 30 years ago and decided to leave and forget... It has slowly grown to a useful sum and I am hoping it to be enough for solar panels 🤞if so, I am definitely getting a sauna... Electric, as my illness has made me realise I do not wish to lug wheelbarrows of logs around for hours before having a sauna! My sister has an electric one and it is fab! You flick the switch and 2 hours later you go in. It will seriously enhance my life in the UK! Oh to warm and dry those bones ☺️

If it's like the UK state as an expat it's up to you to claim it rather than them to contact you, Hanneke. Re saunas, ours is hot enough after about an hour, but I think the heaters are usually pretty beefy, like 6 kW.

Good news TRO. OH put into his final salary for just 18 years and will hopefully get 25 to 30 plus years from it |

Thanks for that Steve! Both sauna and pension! I shall contact them and ask what the process is.

A more modern sauna solution than we have is a self-contained small infra-red cubicle that can be delivered complete. For example, prisklok.no The site is in Norwegian but you might be able to read with Dutch or German knowledge. That's only 1750 W max but it doesn't say anything about steam, and the max temp is only 65C.

Yeah, infrared doesn't tick the boxes, which is being able to do "aufguss" with herbal waters and getting it hot enough.
