My last day at full time work was when I got made redundant. The last minute was as follows:-

HR person said this is the agreement, check the amounts, everything OK?

Looks right.

Any questions?

No.

Goodbye.

You go to work, you get paid, you leave. That's the deal. Anything else is a happy/lucky bonus. In a short space of time the majority of people will not care you were ever there, even if there exists anymore.

Yep, precisely.
But then it works the other way too. I worked on the same software suite for 40 years, from its inception, so whilst there felt a degree of ownership. Since finishing that is all in the past - not interested, I've moved on

Mrs TR has just shown me a picture of a friend of ours who retired last year. He now has an occasional gig as "Salty Sam" - the RNLI's fund raising mascot in the area he moved to 🤣🤣

I know we are leaving my retirement lunch till January as i have too much on in November. I am still invited to my last Christmas party andi know my presentation will be on my last working day as I have been told I will in the main building that day. I have asked if I can be in the other building the 2nd last day as I would like to say goodbye to them.

I will see most of them again at the end of November as I have arranged a day our.

Went for Indian lunch with the mrs, 3 courses and a soft drink for £15.

I took the two ladies I worked with in our office out for a meal with the company credit card before I handed it over at the end of the day 😂

Me organising a day out in November is more for my birthday but will combine my retirement with others rather than just my work colleagues.

Anything for a party me 🤣🤣🤣
