Well whatever his head is thinking he was out there again before 6.15am. You can't do something like this without having some big lows, at the moment I guess he's in the middle of a very long dark tunnel, very tired and no glimmer of light yet from the far end. Hopefully as he starts to eat into the second half and the far end starts to grow real he will find a way out of it and start to enjoy his days in the hills again.
Not sure what's happening. After completing the first two for today Donnie has gone down the Pass of Glencoe on the bike rather than up Buchaille Etive Mor (SD)? He now seems out of position to complete today's plan?
Looks like a complete change of plan. After a stop at the van in the Pass of Glencoe (below the Three Sisters) he's now heading up Meall Dearg on the north side of the pass, which was scheduled for tomorrow). I assume he will traverse Aonach Eagach and also take in Sgorr nam Fiannaidh as the van has gone to the west end of Loch Achtriochtan to wait for him. I wonder if that will be it for the day or whether he'll head back up onto the Bidean nam Bian to complete that section south of the A82 and just omit the original last three from today (Sgor na h-Ulaidh, Beinn Fhionnlaidh and Beinn Sgulaird)?
Combining those three with the other planned two from tomorrow (which was a relatively short day) would work so hopefully just a rejig of the plan rather than something that is going to throw up off schedule in the long term.
Interesting. Not sure I can work out the pros/cons of that change but I guess he has his reasons. Maybe makes today slightly easier to give his leg a bit of rest but it's still hardly a day on the couch!
I guess changing an 11 then a 4, to a 6 then a 9 gives 2 more equal days, with the easiest day first which he may feel is if of potential benefit to his aches and pains.
Another big day completed today and the next two days look like more than decent days out too. The first three on Saturday were what I thought was a decent day out last May and yet for Donnie they are just the first three of twelve on Day 22! What John is doing is awesome and the Wainwrights is a massive challenge but this is just on a completely different scale.
